August is the high season for Santa Barbara hotels so please make your reservations as soon as you can.  Below are some suggested hotels that are within a 10 minute drive to the main tournament fields.  Everything in Santa Barbara and Goleta is within 15 minutes drive of everything else, so no matter which hotel you're in you won't be too far from the fields.  (Carpinteria is an exception; sometimes the freeway jams up and getting into SB from Carpinteria can mean a 15-minute crawl).

Prices for rooms are typically $85-130 in winter, $120-180 in August. We do not receive any discounts for blocking rooms. Due to land prices and building restrictions, our area has fewer hotel rooms than visitor demand dictates on many popular days each year.  In the summer, it is often a chore to get a room even a month or two before you want to come without calling around to several hotels.  For blocks of rooms, it is vital to make reservations at the same time you fill out your tournament application.

Camping at the beach: If you call early enough you can also arrange to stay in one of the four local beach state parks at (800) 444-7275. These are even more popular than Santa Barbara hotels, so make arrangements many months ahead of time.

UCSB student dorms are available at the Francisco Torres complex within 1/2 mile of the playing fields.  The facility offers dorm-style accommodations.  Housing prices will be per person/per night for a double sharing a bath.  The facility has game rooms, dinning facilities and a large pool.  This is a perfect place if you want to be close to the fields at the lowest cost in town.  This is also a unique opportunity to allow players the chance to experience what it would be like to live in a college style dorm room.  For those of us who are a little older, it is a wonderful chance to re-live those freshman days in college.  To reserve beds, please select the appropriate weekend for your application forms and follow the directions listed:

Tropicana Gardens: We are pleased to announce that we have arranged the use of a college student housing facility for the August 17-18 tournament. This is a class "A" facility with a pool and game room for guests to enjoy. It is located across the street from the playing fields at UC Santa Barbara, literally a two-minute walk! It is also less than a 10-minute walk to the beaches of Isla Vista (UCSB). These are not hotel rooms, there are no phones (only pay phones in public areas), TV, or food service at this facility.
Currently, they can provide 375 beds for Friday, August 16 and Saturday, August 17only. The arrangement is in suites, with either 3 beds/ 1 bathroom or 6 beds/ 2 bathrooms and a livingroom in each. The cost is $35 per person per night with a minimum of two nights required - prepaid-with no right of cancellation. All beds must be occupied in a suite. In other words if you have 4 players and 1 adult (5 persons) in a 6 bed suite, you must reserve and pay for all six beds.
THESE ROOMS ARE ON A FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE OFFER. We expect these beds to go quickly. Do not hesitate to put in your request ASAP.

Call Coastal Escapes reservation service (800-292-2222) and ask for help. These folks have been working with us for several years and often reserve blocks of rooms they can put you in in the spring. However, this year they were already putting people in Ventura and Buellton-Solvang by early May for our August weekends! Another service is Hot Spots (800-793-7666), but we have not seen any success with them blocking rooms.
