HOTELS
If you are interested in coming to our tournament then make your reservations now! You can contact our hotel coordinator or try it on your own. We strongly suggest that you make reservations immediately in order to maximize getting a block of rooms in town together, rather than waiting till you are accepted before thinking about hotels.  We accept 97+% of applying teams, so virtually all who apply before the deadline will play.

ACCEPTANCE TO TOURNAMENT
Some teams are wondering about our process to accept teams, particularly in consideration of making hotel reservations. While it is not a guarantee, generally we give preference to teams on a first come, first serve basis. In addition, we also give those teams coming from out of CYSA-South an additional preference as they have to make travel plans much more in advance than local teams. Again, while it is not a guarantee, if a team applies early, has all its paper work in order, and pays the appropriate entry fee, then almost certainly it will be accepted. We accept 97+% of applying teams, so virtually all who apply before the deadline will play.

All acceptance information will be posted via this website. It is always best to confirm receipt of your application by sending an email to our registrar a couple of weeks after you have sent all of your materials in. We will post received applications periodically and will post accepted and pending teams regularly after the application deadline. If you have sent an application and do not see your team listed on one of these lists when they are posted, then the tournament registrar, Brian Hersh (805-683-1281) should be contacted ASAP to make sure it has been received.

BORROWING PLAYERS; LOAN FORMS
In 1998 CYSA-South Board of Directors passed a motion that abolished the need for Loan Forms for any CYSA-South player. If you have players from another CYSA-South team you only need their player cards and medical release forms to present at Check-in. For non-CYSA-South players, loan forms may be required to play on another team. The respective USYSA state association (e.g. CYSA-North) should be contacted to determine if any loan forms are required. If they are, please submit them or bring them to Check-in the Friday night before and we will keep them with your application should any questions from your state association come up.

CYSA-South and our FCSB tournaments allow teams to borrow 'cross-affiliated' players.  In other words, a CYSA-S team or a U.S. Club team may borrow an AYSO player, etc.  This is because AYSO, CYSA, and U.S. Club are all cross-affiliated through USSF.  All players require a laminated card valid for the current year, and an originally-signed medical release, and these must be from their sponsoring organization; no mix and match (i.e. a laminated card from one organization and a medical release from a different organization).

HOUSING AT UC SANTA BARBARA DORMS?
Unfortunately, the students at UCSB will still need their dorm rooms at this time of the year so this is not an option.

PRINTING APPLICATION AND PLAYER ROSTER FROM THIS WEB SITE
Some people are having difficulties printing out our application. If you are one of these, please follow these steps:
1. Place your mouse cursor somewhere on the form itself and "click" the left button
2. Go to "File" menu
3. Choose "Print" menu item
If you fail to do step #1 then something else such as the table of contents might print out.

Some people may not be able to print out the forms on one page each for the application and roster. This has more to do with your printer than with the web site. Laser printers tend to work well. Jet printers sometimes have problems. If your application prints out on more than one page then don't worry about it. Just complete it and send it anyway.

If you still have trouble printing out the application and roster then contact us and we will be glad to either fax or mail you an application.

OUT OF STATE TEAMS
Any team not registered through CYSA-South is considered an "Out of State Team" for the tournament. We accept all out of state teams. However, there may be specific requirements from the respective out of state team that they must meet with their particular state association in order to travel and play in our tournament. There may be certain forms required to be filled out and submitted to the respective District Commissioner or other state association administrator for approval. This is true of teams USYSA-affiliated club teams (e.g. CYSA-N), who do need travel papers. Typically this must be done 30 days prior to the tournament date although some associations may require up to 60 days notice or longer. If you would like to come to our tournament and are not from CYSA-South, please check with your state association for the particular rules and forms that apply. If you need any further documentation from us (besides the Permission to Host a Tournament posted on our Application page) please do not hesitate to contact us.  AYSO and U.S. Club teams do not require travel papers.

U9 & U10 TEAMS
U-10 teams will play 8v8 and have a maximum roster of 14 players with a minimum of 5 on the field at the start. Fields and goals will also be of the appropriate size for U-10 teams.

SEEDING OF BRACKETS
If we have enough teams for multiple brackets and flights then seeding will be based on the records of the teams. That is why it is important to fill out the section on the application relating to the past win/loss/tie record. If you do not have the exact number of wins or losses for the past 6 years don't sweat it. We are looking for a general overview of your team to aide us in seeding the teams. If you feel there are any special circumstances you would like us to know about please feel free to include them with the application.

If there are more than one bracket we will try to put the two best teams that we believe are applying into different brackets. The theory is the top two teams should meet in the finals and not before.

GAME TIMES & MULTIPLE TEAMS
We understand that some of the regional teams would prefer later starting times for their first games on Saturday so that they do not have to get hotel rooms the night before. To meet this request, we will attempt to have our local teams play first. However, since we have only 10 local FCSB teams others will have to be scheduled early.
If your team has a special request for a playing time please send it in writing with your application and every effort will be attempted to meet it.
In addition, if a coach is bringing more than one team the let us know and we will try to schedule them at different times.

While we can not guarantee meeting everyone's request, we take pride in being not too big of a tournament to ignore such inquires.

REFEREES
If you are a USSF referee and are out of the area but would like to work at our tournament please contact us. In addition to paying for your services, we provide lunch, beverages and housing accommodations if you are driving over a certain distance.

For more information, contact Maggie Saling at: maggie@futureadvantage.com

WHAT TEAMS ARE COMING
We will try to put in the "welcome page" teams which are unique and may be coming from a long distance to play in our tournament. In the "schedule" page of each age bracket we will also put down which teams that have applied. However, unless so noted, these teams have not received notice of being officially accepted to play. When they are they will be notified by either fax or email and will be noted in on this web site as such.

During the next several months, additional FAQ will be posted to this page so feel free to check it every once in a while.
